- A brief synopsis of The Project -

DEVELOPMENT PLANS
The Heritage Lottery Fund have kindly provided a Development Grant of more than £500,000 in order to conserve the O'Laverty Collection"
The O'Laverty Library is now undergoing it's renovation with all of its existing collections undergoing cleaning and conservation - with the hope of developing a Catalogue which will be shared with the College, other local Schools, the Wider Community, and of course other Libraries.
THE LIBRARY & ST. MALACHY'S COLLEGE
"Behind the glass fronted pine cabinets are a variety of subjects including: Theology, History, Classics and Mathematics"
The Library, more commonly known as the Dioscesan or O'Laverty Library, is situated at St. Malachy's College - one of Ireland's most renowned and oldest Grammar Schools. However, the full title of the Library was always The Diocesan and Collegiate Library of St. Malachy's College.

EDUCATION & OUTREACH PROGRAMME
"As well as the Development Plan, we have created an ambitious Education & Outreach Programme."
A Cultural Corridor will help us to tell the stories associated with the Library contents and the rich Heritage of St. Malachy's - from the influental McCabe Family to the achievements of famous past students.
THE DISCOVERY OF DIARIES & RESEARCH
"In addition to registers, roll books, ledgers, and newspaper cuttings, we also have uncovered a set of diaries."
During Restoration, we have uncovered a collection of diaries - including an extraordinary 18th Century Journal and Travel Log. And all of these will form part of a research project.
